This was taken from a vision I had when I was really sick. It was very encouraging and relevant in my life.
For those of you who don’t know, I used to draw things to glorify God using paintbrush on windows. I didn’t always draw things to glorify God. I used draw goofy things like superheroes and video game characters. I did the same thing when I used to be able to draw with a pencil, before I discovered the mouse and paintbrush. I could actually make some detailed images with paintbrush. Here are a couple of my Godly pictures you might like. So, take a look.

This image is Jesus sitting on the stairway to heaven. It's unfinished, since I've been unable to draw anymore. I still have these ideas of pictures that pop into my head all the time.
This was an idea I had for the now retired Sower of the Seed website. There may be another website in the future. For now, I'll keep blogging.
If anyone would like to email me some Godly pictures that glorify the Lord that I can post please do so. If you feel so inspired, feel free to build on my drawings by editing or expanding them.

Thoughts on Re-Relationships

Friday, August 27, 2010

If you’re thinking, “How could I ever start a relationship with God?” or “Get to know Him better?” or “Get to know Him better again?” one way is to look at your life and look for things that get in the way of or draw you away from God.

If there’s anything that takes away from prayer or praising the Lord or reading His Bible or witnessing to people, these are the things you need to stop doing. Getting rid of those things would be a step in the right direction and that even goes for people who are Christians. We have to look for things everyday that take us away from the Lord, because everyday is a battle. Sometimes only the Lord can help us stop doing things that take us away from Him. There are some strongholds that only He can break.

It all starts when we stop looking selfishly at ourselves and willingly give things up. If we’re always looking at ourselves we can not hear God or see what He’s up to. I remember when I was a younger person in the Lord, the last thing I wanted to do was give things up to the Lord. Once I started doing that the Lord started showing me more and more things that were getting in the way of my relationship with Him that I never knew.

Good things start happening when these things start dropping from your life. You start hearing the direction of the Holy Spirit more clearly. You feel inexpressible joy more often. How can we not give stuff up to Jesus the Son of God? Giving things up is not a requirement for salvation, but it sure makes things difficult when it comes to a closer relationship with the Lord. Sometimes you have to make sacrifices for the ones we love.

What good is gaining the whole world, if you

Mathew 16:24-27

24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow me. 25 If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it. 26 And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul? 27 For the Son of Man will come with his angels in the glory of his Father and will judge all people according to their deeds
Look what His Father has given us. Look at nature and wildlife around you. Think of all the clouds and weather phenomena. Look at all the beauty of space with its stars, planets and nebulas.

If you’ve never known the Lord let me share some scriptures that will show you how to do that.

John 1:8-10
8If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 10If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives
Romans 3:9-26
No One is Righteous
9What shall we conclude then? Are we any better? Not at all! We have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under sin. 10As it is written:
"There is no one righteous, not even one;
11there is no one who understands,
no one who seeks God.
12All have turned away,
they have together become worthless;
there is no one who does good,
not even one."
13"Their throats are open graves;
their tongues practice deceit."
"The poison of vipers is on their lips."
14"Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness."
15"Their feet are swift to shed blood;
16ruin and misery mark their ways,
17and the way of peace they do not know."
18"There is no fear of God before their eyes.”
19Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. 20Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin.
Righteousness Through Faith
21But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, 23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished— 26he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.
Jesus died a cruel death on a cross for us and He never even sinned. He rose again the third day. He loved us that much. That means you. Just put your trust in Him and confess that you’re a sinner and want His forgiveness. Ask Him to forgive you of your sins and help you turn away from them and guide you by His Holy Spirit if you truly mean it.

Hope to see you in the Spirit in the sky.

Catch you later.

Wanted to share some more old school Christian music. Check out these songs from the 70's and 80's. Imagine my surprise when I saw that one of the artists was Blair from the Facts of Life! I never knew any of them sang Christian pop music. Learn something new everday.

Check Out Josh Harmony!

Friday, August 20, 2010

The other day, I was listening to a rebroadcast of Rimmerama on cross rhythyms and he did an interview with Josh Harmony. Harmony has made a name for himself as a professional skateboarder, but it turns out he is a gifted singer/songwriter/guitarist as well, using those gifts to share the word. During the interview with Mike Rimmer, Harmony shared his testimony, about how God delivered him from drugs. I was really impressed with this young man, and I think any age would enjoy his music.

A short time after listening to the interview, I checked out a link to Josh Harmony's MySpace page. There, I found various ways to check out his music, including a link to his website. If you're looking to buy or download some great music, I encourage you to support Josh Harmony.

Here's a sample of what I mean. The following are 2 videos of Harmony, one where he's playing one of his newer songs and one where he's skateboarding. Also, I've thrown in a video that's just basically music.

Thoughts on Old & New: Part 3

Sunday, August 15, 2010

Welcome to the final installment of the series “Thoughts on the Old & New”, a study of prophecy in the Bible and how the Old and New Testament come together to create a picture of Redemption through the Messiah. I heard a pastor say the Old Testament reveals the New Testament and the New Testament fulfills the Old Testament. In a way, the two parts complete a circle or circuit of understanding.

On a related note, be sure to try and read the whole Bible for yourself. The Bible consists of 66 books in all, 39 in the Old and 27 in the New. Make sure and pick a version that suits you best and presents the Word in the most accessible way for you. That way, you’ll get the most out of it. I personally like to use different versions, sometimes cross referencing to get the fullest understanding. The versions I like to use are the New International Version NIV, English Standard Version ESV, New Living Version NLV, and King James Version KJV. But the choice is yours. Another thing I find very helpful is to utilize the various aids, especially when they refer to the original Hebrew or Greek words. The more you learn about the original languages, it’s almost like the closer you’re getting to God.

Continuing in the same vein, here are some more scriptures being prophesied and fulfilled.

Psalm 22:18

18 They divide my garments among them and cast lots for my clothing.
John 19:23-24
23When the soldiers crucified Jesus, they took his clothes, dividing them into four shares, one for each of them, with the undergarment remaining. This garment was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom.
24"Let's not tear it," they said to one another. "Let's decide by lot who will get it."
This happened that the scripture might be fulfilled which said,
"They divided my garments among them
and cast lots for my clothing." So this is what the soldiers did.
There are many places in the Old Testament that come together to create the final picture revealed in John 19. It’s quite astounding, when you think about it, how it all comes together. Here are three Old Testament scriptures followed by a New Testament verse.

Exodus 12:46
46 "It must be eaten inside one house; take none of the meat outside the house. Do not break any of the bones.
Numbers 9:12
12 They must not leave any of it till morning or break any of its bones. When they celebrate the Passover, they must follow all the regulations.
Psalm 34:20
20 he protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken.
John 19:28-37
The Death of Jesus
28Later, knowing that all was now completed, and so that the Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, "I am thirsty." 29A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus' lips. 30When he had received the drink, Jesus said, "It is finished." With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
31Now it was the day of Preparation, and the next day was to be a special Sabbath. Because the Jews did not want the bodies left on the crosses during the Sabbath, they asked Pilate to have the legs broken and the bodies taken down. 32The soldiers therefore came and broke the legs of the first man who had been crucified with Jesus, and then those of the other. 33But when they came to Jesus and found that he was already dead, they did not break his legs. 34Instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus' side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water. 35The man who saw it has given testimony, and his testimony is true. He knows that he tells the truth, and he testifies so that you also may believe. 36These things happened so that the scripture would be fulfilled: "Not one of his bones will be broken," 37and, as another scripture says, "They will look on the one they have pierced."
Here’s another scripture foretelling details about the Crucifixion of the Messiah. This one is quite unique in that it also appears in Revelation, where it suggests that some Jewish and non-Jewish people will be left behind, after mistakenly following the Antichrist. When this happens, even the most stubborn Jews and Gentiles will know that Jesus was the real Messiah.

Zechariah 12:10
Mourning for the One They Pierced
10 "And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.
John 19:31-37

Thank you for reading the series. Hopefully it was as inspiring to you as it was for me.

Now, I’d like to leave you with this last scripture from Romans, where Paul says it best, what Yeshua, the Messiah did.

Romans 3:21-31
The Righteousness of God Through Faith
21But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— 22the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: 23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. 26It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
27 Then what becomes of our boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? By a law of works? No, but by the law of faith. 28For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law. 29Or is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also, 30since God is one—who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith. 31Do we then overthrow the law by this faith? By no means! On the contrary, we uphold the law.

Thoughts on the Old & New: Part 2

Saturday, August 14, 2010

Okay, here we go, with the continuation of the series.

In the first post, I gave you an extremely brief synopsis of the Old Testament followed by three different events that were prophesied in the Old Testament and then came to fruition in the New Testament: John the Baptist’s role, The Crucifixion, and the Resurrection, as they pertain to the Messiah.

In this second installment in the series, I’m going to make similar summation of the New Testament and then some more Old Testament prophesies and when they were fulfilled.

You got to think of the New Testament as a continuation of the first covenant or revamp, which only God has the authority to do. God’s first covenant was made during a specific time to help the Jews in the early part of their existence. Like every human has done, as every human is flawed, the Jews failed to uphold the covenant. So, God sent the Messiah to complete the first covenant and establish a new one in its place. You can see in the Old Testament, many things point to the Messiah, as well as all the practices God commanded in the Torah (the first five books of the Old Testament) for the children of Israel to do. I wish I could list all the parallels for you, but that would take days.

The New Testament was written 400 years after the last book of the Old Testament. It begins with the Gospels, the first four books of the New Testament, which are four separate accounts of the life of Yeshua (meaning “salvation” in Hebrew, translated as Jesus). When the Messiah is crucified, He fulfills the promises of giving the fledgling Christians (those who choose to follow the Messiah) a comforter, and this is the Holy Spirit, which was promised in the Old Testament. Basically the rest of the Testament is the account of the Holy Spirit working in man, carrying out God’s will, as Paul and the Disciples took the message to the Jews as well as the Gentiles. The New Testament wraps things up with a prophetic message recorded in Revelation, which speaks of the Messiah’s return and the events after. Interesting enough, you can see some of the gaps in Revelation filled in by the Old Testament book of Daniel.

This first pair of prophetic scriptures relates to the way in which the Messiah will arrive in Jerusalem: riding a donkey, or colt.

Zechariah 9:9

The Coming of Zion's King
9 Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion! Shout, Daughter of Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and having salvation, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
Matthew 21:1-17
The Triumphal Entry
1As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples, 2saying to them, "Go to the village ahead of you, and at once you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt by her. Untie them and bring them to me. 3If anyone says anything to you, tell him that the Lord needs them, and he will send them right away."
4This took place to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet: 5"Say to the Daughter of Zion, 'See, your king comes to you, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.' "
6The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them. 7They brought the donkey and the colt, placed their cloaks on them, and Jesus sat on them. 8A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. 9The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted,
"Hosanna to the Son of David!"
"Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!"
"Hosanna in the highest!"
10When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, "Who is this?"
11The crowds answered, "This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee."
Jesus at the Temple
12Jesus entered the temple area and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves. 13"It is written," he said to them, " 'My house will be called a house of prayer,' but you are making it a 'den of robbers.'"
14The blind and the lame came to him at the temple, and he healed them. 15But when the chief priests and the teachers of the law saw the wonderful things he did and the children shouting in the temple area, "Hosanna to the Son of David," they were indignant.
16"Do you hear what these children are saying?" they asked him.
"Yes," replied Jesus, "have you never read,
" 'From the lips of children and infants
you have ordained praise'?"
17And he left them and went out of the city to Bethany, where he spent the night.
Matthew 21:33-46
The Parable of the Tenants
33"Listen to another parable: There was a landowner who planted a vineyard. He put a wall around it, dug a winepress in it and built a watchtower. Then he rented the vineyard to some farmers and went away on a journey. 34When the harvest time approached, he sent his servants to the tenants to collect his fruit.
35"The tenants seized his servants; they beat one, killed another, and stoned a third. 36Then he sent other servants to them, more than the first time, and the tenants treated them the same way. 37Last of all, he sent his son to them. 'They will respect my son,' he said.
38"But when the tenants saw the son, they said to each other, 'This is the heir. Come, let's kill him and take his inheritance.' 39So they took him and threw him out of the vineyard and killed him.
40"Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those tenants?"
41"He will bring those wretches to a wretched end," they replied, "and he will rent the vineyard to other tenants, who will give him his share of the crop at harvest time."
42Jesus said to them, "Have you never read in the Scriptures:
" 'The stone the builders rejected
has become the capstone;
the Lord has done this,
and it is marvelous in our eyes'?
43"Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit. 44He who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces, but he on whom it falls will be crushed."
45When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard Jesus' parables, they knew he was talking about them. 46They looked for a way to arrest him, but they were afraid of the crowd because the people held that he was a prophet.
Here is a similar pair of scriptures, but emphasizing the joyful shout of the people of Jerusalem as they receive their Messiah.

Psalm 118:26
26 Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD. From the house of the LORD we bless you.
Luke 19:37-38
The Triumphal Entry
37When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen:
38"Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!"
"Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!"

Thoughts on the Old & New: Part 1

Friday, August 13, 2010

In this post, I’d like to share with you scriptures from the Old Testament and where those scriptures were fulfilled in the New Testament. In the Old Testament, God gives us the account of Creation and establishes His first covenant with the people of Israel. Including the Torah, or the first five books, there are thirty-nine books in the Old Testament. Some of those books were written over 5000 years before the New Testament. That's quite astounding! In the Old Testament, you’ll find many promises God has given to his Chosen People (The Jewish People) as well as the rest of the world (Gentiles).

Of all God’s promises, none is more significant than His promise to give the world the Messiah. I’d like to show some of these very scriptures. There are probably thousands of references to this very promise, some easier to detect, while others are still hidden until the right time. Here are some of the scriptures that reveal the who, what, where, when and how pertaining to the Messiah.

Given how important this subject is I’m going to make this a three-part series. I’m gonna give you some information about the New Testament, also.

The Following scriptures speak of the one who will make the way for the Messiah.

Malachi 3:1

1"See, I will send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly the Lord you are seeking will come to his temple; the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, will come," says the LORD Almighty.
Isaiah 40:3
3 A voice of one calling:"In the desert prepare the way for the LORD make straight in the wilderness a highway for our God.
And here is the fulfillment of those scriptures.

Matthew 3:1-17
John the Baptist Prepares the Way
1In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the Desert of Judea 2and saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near." 3This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah: "A voice of one calling in the desert, 'Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.' " 4John's clothes were made of camel's hair, and he had a leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey. 5People went out to him from Jerusalem and all Judea and the whole region of the Jordan. 6Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River. 7But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to where he was baptizing, he said to them: "You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath? 8Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. 9And do not think you can say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father.' I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham. 10The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire. 11"I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me will come one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. 12His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor, gathering his wheat into the barn and burning up the chaff with unquenchable fire."
The Baptism of Jesus
13Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John. 14But John tried to deter him, saying, "I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?" 15Jesus replied, "Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness." Then John consented. 16As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him. 17And a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased."
The following scriptures refer to the foretelling of the Messiah being sacrificed for the sins of many.

Isaiah 53:12
12 Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong, because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
The fulfillment of this prophesy can be found in more than one place, but for the sake of time, for this post, I think John 19 puts it best. Please click on this link to go to John 19. If you’d like to listen to the chapter, click here.

Thank God this isn’t the end of the story. There’s the matter of the empty grave to ponder.

So, in the next scriptures, we have the resurrection of the Messiah.

Jonah 1:13-17
13 Instead, the men did their best to row back to land. But they could not, for the sea grew even wilder than before. 14 Then they cried to the LORD, "O LORD, please do not let us die for taking this man's life. Do not hold us accountable for killing an innocent man, for you, O LORD, have done as you pleased." 15 Then they took Jonah and threw him overboard, and the raging sea grew calm. 16 At this the men greatly feared the LORD, and they offered a sacrifice to the LORD and made vows to him. 17 But the LORD provided a great fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah was inside the fish three days and three nights.
Jonah 2:10
10And the LORD commanded the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry land.
Mathew 12:38-40
38Then some of the Pharisees and teachers of the law said to him, "Teacher, we want to see a miraculous sign from you."
39He answered, "A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a miraculous sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. 40For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
John 20:1-18
The Empty Tomb
1Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance. 2So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, "They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don't know where they have put him!"
3So Peter and the other disciple started for the tomb. 4Both were running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. 5He bent over and looked in at the strips of linen lying there but did not go in. 6Then Simon Peter, who was behind him, arrived and went into the tomb. He saw the strips of linen lying there, 7as well as the burial cloth that had been around Jesus' head. The cloth was folded up by itself, separate from the linen. 8Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed. 9(They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.)
Jesus Appears to Mary Magdalene
10Then the disciples went back to their homes, 11but Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb 12and saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus' body had been, one at the head and the other at the foot.
13They asked her, "Woman, why are you crying?"
"They have taken my Lord away," she said, "and I don't know where they have put him." 14At this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realize that it was Jesus.
15"Woman," he said, "why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?"
Thinking he was the gardener, she said, "Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him."
16Jesus said to her, "Mary."
She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, "Rabboni!" (which means Teacher).
17Jesus said, "Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet returned to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, 'I am returning to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.'"
18Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news: "I have seen the Lord!" And she told them that he had said these things to her.
I would stop, with this scripture quote, but since it's such an important matter, I felt like I should use some quotes from a different book of the Bible, talking about the same evidence.

Luke 24:1-12
The Resurrection
1On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. 2They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. 5In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, "Why do you look for the living among the dead? 6He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 7'The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.' " 8Then they remembered his words.
9When they came back from the tomb, they told all these things to the Eleven and to all the others. 10It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the others with them who told this to the apostles. 11But they did not believe the women, because their words seemed to them like nonsense. 12Peter, however, got up and ran to the tomb. Bending over, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he went away, wondering to himself what had happened.
Luke 24:36-53
Jesus Appears to the Disciples
36While they were still talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, "Peace be with you."
37They were startled and frightened, thinking they saw a ghost. 38He said to them, "Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds? 39Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have."
40When he had said this, he showed them his hands and feet. 41And while they still did not believe it because of joy and amazement, he asked them, "Do you have anything here to eat?" 42They gave him a piece of broiled fish, 43and he took it and ate it in their presence.
44He said to them, "This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms."
45Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. 46He told them, "This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, 47and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48You are witnesses of these things. 49I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high."
The Ascension
